For its new Extrait de Parfum Vanilla Affair, D'ORSAY called upon master perfumer Nathalie Lorson.
She reveals the behind-the-scenes of the creation of this new love potion.
MASTER PERFUMER
A Master Perfumer since 2016, Nathalie Lorson began her career in Grasse, where she grew up.
Since the 1990s, she explores multiple olfactory territories with great freedom, moving from one register to another without ever losing the singularity of her style.

VANILLA AFFAIR explores light and shadow around an iconic ingredient: Vanilla. The challenge was to reinvent it, to offer it a new expression. Nathalie Lorson has imagined a fragrance of hyper-sensuality, deeply addictive, bold, and assertive. This idea of intense addiction, driven by a truly creative stance, guided the entire development of the fragrance.
The master perfumer chose to build the fragrance around a duo of vanillas with complementary facets.
The first, a Madagascar Vanilla Planifolia absolute, brings an intense, mysterious, almost leathery and sensual depth.
The second, a CO₂-extracted Bourbon Vanilla, reveals on the contrary a more gourmet, creamy and nostalgic dimension. The idea was to showcase these two exceptional materials while preserving their natural richness, depth and quality, thanks to a direct and very legible formula.
The challenge was to craft indulgence in a noble and sophisticated way, in order to remain fully faithful to the DNA of Maison D’ORSAY.
